Impatient
We drove through Silver Spring, MD yesterday on our way back home. Apparently this town just can't wait to celebrate a season that has not yet begun. (At least in my mind it hasn't. I still have a bowl of Baby Ruths and the skulls and pumpkins just made their way back to the bin in the basement.)
They even have the city workers decking the halls on a Sunday! Talk about your Christmas rush.
Don't get me wrong. I love Christmastime. But I haven't even bought a turkey yet! How about you? Anyone have a holiday decoration up yet? (And I don't mean Halloween.)

It's just too early for Christmas! We had temps in the 70's this weekend. Like you, I'm just taking down Halloween. Hope you have a very nice week.

No, the rule at our house is not before the turkey is eaten and the dishes put away.
I noticed a house in Winter Park that had their Christmas lights on BEFORE Halloween! I at first thought they were Halloween lights, but NO, they were CHRISTMAS lights.
For Pete's Sake --- pretty soon it will be all Christmas, all the time.
This always makes me wacky! I will refuse to aknowledge Christmas until after we have our Thanksgiving leftovers eaten!!!
Yeah, that's nuts. It isn't even Veteran's Day for crying out loud. I am not even THINKING about Christmas shopping (which I try not to do anyway, think about it, I mean, but...)

I agree, Margaret. They have already started decorating for Christmas here too. They need to slow down a bit and enjoy the days between here and there first. Happy Monday to you! :D
Silver Springs is where one of my college roommates was from! (Leslie Yancey) Anywhoooo I guess they must be trying to beat the snow?? Sure hope they remember the true reason for the season.
