Secret Project

Well, the baby shower is under way, so I can now post the secret project in its entirety...

This is the picture my niece posted on Facebook, of the bedding for her baby-to-be. 



The theme I went for: Butterflies, pink and purple. The result:



I would say that the last picture represents the colors most realistically.  I love a good pattern that looks harder than it actually is. This was really fun to knit and watch the butterflies appear.

Stats: Pattern is "Flutterby", a freebie on Ravelry.  Yarn is Plymouth Encore.

Well, I was there when it was unveiled, and everyone seemed pretty amazed by it when the wrapping came off. It has already taken up a place of honor up on the crib in the baby's room. Looks great and there does seem to be a butterfly theme going on. Good work! But "easy"? Doubt it. Not in my world.
